ZOMBIEzi Bay will not return for 2024. But check out not-so-scary fun with Boo at the Zoo, and Oktoberfest at Zoombezi Bay.
The ZOMBIEzi Bay haunted attraction, presented by Mtn Dew, features a wicked new world with four haunted houses, two scare zones, rides and plenty of sinister surprises.
Those who are brave enough can visit the haunts on select days from September 22-October 29, 2023.
“In addition to Boo at the Zoo, which is geared more toward families, ZOMBIEzi Bay is designed to offer teens and adults a fun, safe place to experience the thrills of Halloween—if they so dare!” said Anthony Sabo, Vice President of Waterpark Operations and Guest Services at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Zoombezi Bay.
Be ready for scares all over the park – in the haunted attractions AND while roaming the park pathways.
Attractions, Scare Zones, and Rides at ZOMBIEzi Bay at Zoombezi Bay
Grave, NEW FOR 2023! Teenagers went to party in the cemetery. They weren’t counting on patient zero to be there, too. Come join in their eternal party! Opens at dusk.
Eternal Darkness, presented by Mtn Dew: Are you afraid of the dark? You will be after an encounter with the Eternal Darkness—if you make it out alive, that is. The netherworld has come to life in this near pitch-black experience. Can you find your way out before it is too late?
Pleasant Screams, presented by Versiti Blood Center of Ohio: Enter the mysterious research facility known as Pleasant Dreams Laboratory, a world-famous sleep study facility…or is it? For years, locals have whispered that something else occurs at this foreboding site. Genetic testing? Mind manipulation? Take a tour of the Laboratory and come face-to-face with your worst nightmares.
Sinister Sideshow: Step right up and enter the Sinister Sideshow! Don your 3D glasses and check out the sideshow. It is fun for all ages, and they are looking for new victims! Evil clowns and blood-curdling acts all under the Big Top…what could go wrong?
Scare Zones
Photosynthesis, presented by Mtn Dew (Scare Zone): Did you know that when plants die, they don’t really die? In Photosynthesis, Mother Nature is hungry and out for revenge. Will you escape or be the next meal? They didn’t teach us this in science class.
Dead River Devastation: NEW for 2022! Zombies have descended upon the town of Dead River, Ohio, leaving destruction in their wake. Can you survive the undead, or will you become a permanent resident of this town? Opens at 7 p.m.
Rides at ZOMBIEzi Bay: No other Central Ohio haunted attractions have rides! Normally a part of the Adventure Cove region at the Columbus Zoo, six pulse-pounding amusement rides will be included with ZOMBIEzi Bay admission, such as the classic wooden roller coaster, Sea Dragon.

Hi – admission is not $280. It ranges from $14.99 – $44.99. Is there a typo that says otherwise? This pricing is in line with many other haunted attractions, and while some of them aren’t cheap, it isn’t up to me to decide what people are willing to pay for a once a year experience. As such, I write about all of them and include any available discounts, so that people can compare and decide if the want to spend their money in that way.
This is not a paid advertisement, or else that would be disclosed at the top of the article. Hope that helps!

Sorry Columbus on the cheap
$280 for a haunted experience is NOT cheap
How much did the pay you to advertise?
Don’t they make enough $ in the summer? Close down for the winter. Let haunted houses make their money. Greedy.
