Teens interested in flight and aviation can learn all of the ins and outs at the Youth Aviation Adventure.
The program is Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 8 am – 3:30 pm, and is just $5 per youth ages 12-18.
Learn about Aerodynamics, Airport Operations, Careers in Aviation, Instrument Panels, Navigation, How to Pre-flight a real airplane, Build an FPG-9 Glider, and even test your aviation knowledge in a game of Aviation In-the-Know!
Scout requirements
- If you are a Boy Scout, completing the program will complete all the requirements needed for the Aviation Merit Badge.
- If you are a Girl Scout, completing this program completes many requirements for Girl Scout Badges as well.
Currently, the YAA program “Columbus Squadron” has a pool of over one hundred pilots and other adult volunteers who offer their expertise as discussion leaders. Several pilots provide their own aircraft as teaching aids, and the Ohio State Airport provides a hangar and ramp space.
The program is typically held twice a year.
