Get out of the house and explore with family at Willow Wood Event Park in Johnstown, Ohio this winter break. As a follow-up to their Fall Fantasy Walkthrough, they are hosting the first annual Winter Wonderland Walkthrough.
Willow Wood Event Park is an event and photography venue that specializes in unique sets and props for both the professional and novice photographer. They have expanded this venture to include highly stylized themed, seasonal walkthroughs.
Visiting Willow Wood Winter Wonderland
On Fridays-Sundays through January 2, families can enjoy a small Winter Wonderland around the beautiful pond. The short walk through is centered in fantasy and is appropriate for children of all ages.
“We wanted to create a safe, fun environment for the kids to enjoy this holiday season,” says Patricia, Owner. The art installations around the pond have been created by husband and wife team, Jeff & Rebecca MacKay and hosted by Pat Morgan owner of Willow Wood Event Park. They have created fantasy art through up-cycling, repurposing and hand making all of the art seen around the pond.
The walkthrough features an interactive scavenger hunt aimed at younger children, in addition to a story driven art exhibit. “Think of it as a fantasy art exhibit you can wander around and take photos with your family,” says Rebecca. Magic and Fae folk lore are the center of the winter story.
You can expect to find a small Gnome village and a tale of the winter holiday told by Papa Gnome. The walkthrough will include whimsical lights, a delightful large gingerbread house, a giant snow globe, a candy forest, Santa’s Sleigh, and other magical creations.
The event is a hands-off, outside event, with social distancing and masks encouraged.
Families (and whimsy-loving grown-ups) can enjoy Willow Wood on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 5 pm – 8 pm through January 2, 2022.
Admission is $5 per person, infants are free. Cash only. Hot Chocolate and Popcorn are available for purchase as well.
