The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ is happening from November 20-December 18th, 2022, and if you plan to watch, you’ll need to know where and how!
The tournament is being played in the winter for the first time ever, as a way to avoid the heat of a Qatar summer.
Unfortunately, the heat is the least of the concerns for the location selection, and the spirit of the tournament has been marred with controversy, corruption, and human rights violations. You can read more about that here.
We acknowledge and respect that many people are boycotting the tournament due to these major issues.
How the World Cup tournament is organized
The competition is made up of 32 teams that have qualified over the last three years. There is a group stage and a knockout stage for the tournament.

How to watch the FIFA World Cup at Home without Cable
All matches in the 2022 are broadcast on Fox or FS1. Both channels are available on every major streaming service in the United States.
If you don’t have cable, you can watch Fox with an inexpensive antenna, or OTA (over-the-air antenna). We scoured the several tech review sites and found a few that came up on multiple recommendation lists.
Order now, or pick one up at a local store if shipping is too long! You’ll be able to find an antenna at Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, and other similar stores.
If you don’t want to mess with an antenna, you can usually get a free trial for most streaming services. This should give you enough days to watch the World Cup. Just don’t forget to cancel the service since most will automatically charge your credit card after the free trial is up!
If you can’t watch the matches live, or want to watch replays, Tubi has all 64 full match replays available for free. Create a free Tubi account and you’ll have access to all of the World Cup matches, highlights and news.
