Have a computer? Work from your couch for an amazing company! If you’re looking for full-time employment, but would rather stay in your pajamas, Amazon is hiring 5,000 seasonal work from home positions from select states, including Ohio!
While working from home is slightly more flexible than going into an office, please be aware that these full-time positions are strict with the hours and schedule worked, and allow limited – if any – scheduled time off during peak season. See excerpt from hiring page:
Our Virtual Contact Center is open 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Being able to work an assigned schedule that falls within our operating hours is required and expected. Available shifts may include days, afternoons and evenings. Typically, they include one or both weekend days and schedules may change throughout the duration of your employment. There may be at times mandatory overtime, based on business needs. Associates may work up to, but no more than 60 hours a week. Working hours for all staff increase substantially during our peak season (Thanksgiving through mid-January). In order to support our customers, vacation requests are not granted during our peak season unless otherwise required by law. You may also be required to work on any/all major holidays. If you’re a student, we’ll do our best to work around your school schedule!
The pay in $10 per hour and includes paid training, bonus opportunity, and dedicated resources to support your ongoing growth and development. You’ll need to be proficient with the computer and using the internet. These Virtual Customer Service program positions will start out as seasonal, but employees may remain with Amazon in a temporary capacity for up to six months, depending on business need. Seasonal positions typically include benefits for you and your eligible family members (including domestic partners). Benefits may vary, but the basics include medical coverage after 90 days, shift differential, overtime, and opportunity for year-round employment.
If full-time hours won’t work for you, Amazon is hiring for 30,000 part time positions over the next year. Part-time employees working 20 hours a week or more receive benefits, including an amazing tuition reimbursement program. Amazon also plans to hire 25,000 military veterans and spouses to over the next five years, which will be amazing for job continuity with military spouses, as well as for veterans with mobility or other issues which would make employment outside of the home difficult.
