Kick off your Halloween festivities with a fun, family-friendly event, CAPA Haunts The Ohio, at the historic Ohio Theatre and Columbus Commons in Downtown Columbus!
CAPA Haunts The Ohio
On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, kids of all ages are invited to explore a Halloween-themed version of the theater, collect goodies at trick-or-treat stations, and enjoy a weather-proof alternative to traditional trick-or-treating.
Costumes are encouraged, so come dressed in your Halloween best!
Throughout the event, CAPA associate organist David Fleisher will perform spooky tunes on the Mighty Morton organ. Guests can also meet “creatures” from the Ohio School of Falconry, enjoy characters from Castle on a Cloud Entertainment, and view a special Day of the Dead display.
In addition to collecting treats, there will be crafts, selfie stations, and entertainment provided by local favorites such as Columbus Children’s Theatre, Columbus Symphony, Opera Columbus, and Short North Stage.
Columbus Commons Halloween Fun
Just a short walk away at Columbus Commons, enjoy themed activities like a dance party on the iconic stage, spooky readings, photo ops, and sway-pole performances.
Pumpkins and Ohio Apple Cider available for purchase (enjoy with or without “Boo’ze), and pumpkins for purchase. Classic Halloween-themed cartoons will be playing on the outdoor video screens.

Arrive anytime between 4-7 pm, and preferred parking is available at the Columbus Commons garage.
The event is totally free – no tickets or registration required. There are stairs at the event; please leave strollers at home.
Kids can take their Halloween costumes for a trial run as they trick or treat through the theatre. Don’t be afraid to go all out with creative costumes – this is the theatre after all!
