Sunbury Christmas on the Square

Join the Sunbury/Big Walnut Area Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Christmas on the Square 2024 on Saturday, December 7 from 4-8 pm. Enjoy the tastes, sounds, and sights of the holiday season. 

Craft and Gift Fair

4pm – 8pm: Do some holiday shopping at the Craft and Gift Fair on Sunbury Square between Town Hall & Vernon St.  

Make ornaments with Kiwanis Club and take a horse and carriage ride. The Municipal building has holiday crafts and game, hot chocolate and treats. There will also be a Nativity scene by St. John Neumann Catholic Church, and Sunbury Lions Club Christmas Tree Sale.

The event will also feature ice sculptors, holiday music by DJ Meeko, live woodcarving. Food and beverage vendors will be along Granville Street.

The Lighted Musical Christmas Parade

5:30 pm: The Lighted Christmas Parade, with NBC4i announcer Dave Mazza, kicks off the main events. The parade route starts at Burrer Drive by the Community Library, heads up State Route 37 (or Cherry Street), turns right on Vernon, right on Granville, and back to Burrer Drive.   

Santa Dog Contest

6:30 pm: Santa Dog Contest. Dress your favorite pup in their best Santa costume for the Santa Dog Contest. The contest is limited to 10 entries and is located on the northwest quadrant of the square. Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 winners. Register online or call the Sunbury Big Walnut Area Chamber of Commerce @ 740-965-2860.

Sunbury Tree Lighting Ceremony

7:00pm: The tree lighting ceremony takes place on the Square. Join Mayor Joe St. John and Good ‘Ol Saint Nick as they officially light the Christmas Tree on the Square!

Pictures with Santa

Santa will be inside Town Hall for visits after he lights the tree. Bring your phone or camera for photos!

Donut Eating Contest

Love donuts? Don’t miss the Christmas on the Square Donut Eating Contest sponsored and presented by Table Rock Construction after the tree lighting. Open to the first 8 people to register on the day of the event. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and sign a liability waiver. First place winner gets $50, second place gets $25.

Sock Drive

Table Rock and Sunbury Chamber of Commerce are collecting new packaged socks (any size) until Saturday, December 2nd.  You can drop them off at the below locations.
