Nestled in the heart of Delaware, Ohio, near the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University, The Strand Theatre is the 10th longest-operating movie theaters in the United States.
Open since 1916, it’s one to the few remaining independent movie theaters showing first-run films, along with community events.
As a historic landmark and a hub of cinematic and performing arts, The Strand has been a beloved fixture since its inception, and a long-running feature in the community.

Sensory Series
On the 4th Saturday of each month, The Strand Theatre provides showings for children, families, and adults in the community who would enjoy an alternative movie experience, such as patrons on the autism spectrum or those living with other special needs.
Lights are up, sound is down, and singing dancing, and movement are welcome. Closed Captioning and Assisted-Listening Devices are available. Tickets can be purchased at the Strand Theatre Box Office. The Box Office opens 30 minutes prior to the first show time daily. See upcoming film here.

Parking at The Strand
– Metered city parking lot right across from the Strand. Meters are free after 5 pm Monday-Friday and all day on Saturday & Sunday.
– Parking in the street without meters is free for the posted limit. Limits do not apply after 6 pm or on weekends.
– Free parking at the city lot across from the library that is marked as permit parking only is okay to park in after 5 pm and on weekends.
