Donations to food pantries are highest around the holidays and through winter months. Unfortunately, donations decrease during spring and summer. The annual Letter Carrier’s Stamp Out Hunger Campaign helps restock food pantries!
The need for food donations is a constant though – especially in summertime when kids don’t have access to school lunch.
Stamp Out Hunger Campaign
Help your local community on Saturday, May 11, 2024, by leaving a bag a non-perishable food near your mailbox to help the annual Letter Carrier’s Stamp Out Hunger Campaign.
Your local letter carrier will pick up the bag and deliver it to the local food bank or pantry, where it will help those in your own community.
Help them collect more than 75 million pounds this year.
Please included only non-expired, non-perishable goods. Do not donate food in jars. For more information, check out the website.
The food drive is held annually on the second Saturday in May in 10,000 cities and towns across the US.
Hunger affects 1 in 8 Americans, including millions of children, senior citizens and veterans. The food drive has collected about 1.82 billion pounds of food for struggling residents over 3 decades.
