Skiing, Snowboarding, and Tubing at Mad River Mountain

Skiing, snowboard, and tubing season is here, and we are lucky enough to have a great place to go that’s less than 1 hour from Columbus!

Mad River Mountain is located just Northwest of Columbus, and features 144 skiable acres, a Terrain Park, 20 trails, and Bubly, Ohio’s Largest Tubing Park with ten 1000 foot lanes.

Whether you go all day, or want to go for just a couple of hours, it’s one of the most affordable places to ski, snowboard, and tube, due to its proximity to Columbus (no need for a hotel!).

It’s a great place for a beginner to learn, but also good for practice expert locals who can’t get away regularly to larger ski resorts.

Want to hit the slopes on a Wednesday evening after work? It’s close enough that you won’t have to miss any work the next day.

Mad River Mountain Opening Day

Opening date for the slopes is Friday, December 13, 2024 at 3 pm! Enjoy free doughnuts, swag giveaways, and more!

Bubly Tube Park is scheduled to open on December 26, 2024. (Reservations make a perfect holiday gift!)

Lift Tickets and Rentals for Ski and Snowboard

Lift tickets range from $70-$79 for adults, $26 for seniors 65+, and $57-$70 for kids ages 5-12. Kids 4 and under are free with adult lift tickets. Purchase in advance or purchase the Epic Day Pass for the biggest savings.

Pick up tickets for kids under 4 at the resort ticket window. These tickets will be exempt from lift ticket availability restrictions during holiday times. Please visit the window to purchase. 

On-resort prices may be higher.  

Lift tickets will be limited during popular holiday periods. Book lift tickets 7+ days in advance to get the best savings. Your lift ticket is refundable if your plans change. 

After 3 pm: Ski after 3 pm at a discount under the lights. Tickets can be purchased at the resort.

Military discounts at Mad River Mountain

Valid for active and retired military members. Military tickets can be purchased at the window. Please have your military ID ready to verify your purchase. Military tickets require in-person verification to pick up your lift ticket in resort.

Bubly Snow Tubing Park

December 26, 2024

Tubing is a separate pass from lift tickets. Lift tickets aren’t required for tubing park. Tubing tickets are $34.

The tubing park is so fun and affordable that it may sell out during busy holiday times and during good weather weekends.

Midday and evening are most likely to sell out during busy days, and ticket sales may be put on hold until tubes are available. (Not open daily; please check dates and hours).

Ski and Snowboard Lessons

Lessons are available for all ages and abilities, as well as women-only lessons that include socializing after the event.

The snowmaking system makes it possible to ski nearly every day once the resort opens, but the Snow Report will give you full details for what’s open and how much snow they have.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS

Featuring lift ticket specials, rental package specials, and live music in The Loft! 
January 11th, January 25, February 8th and February 22nd. Ski from 5 pm – midnight on select nights in January and February. Lift tickets are just $29 and rental is $5.

DEW AFTER DARK

Sunset means the fun is just getting started! During select nights in January and February 2025 come ski and ride under the lights, grab some MTN DEW samples, and exclusive Dew After Dark swag.

Join us on our patio area out back where we will be offering free Buckeye S’mores kits! Enjoy our new fire pits and seating with a great view of the slopes. Happening from 1:00p – 2:00p every Sunday in January and February.

FAMILY FEST
February 6, 2025 from 1 pm – 3 pm
Mad River Mountain celebrates you and your family during Family Fest! Featuring face painters, balloon artists, photo op backdrops, and more! All happening from 1:00p – 3:00p in the cafeteria area, completely free to experience! Check out the festivities while you rest your legs between runs.

ABSOLUTELY FREE HOT CHOCOLATE BAR

Visit Mad River to make your custom Hot Chocolate with your favorite toppings, absolutely free. Also, we will have custom Mad River mugs that we will be handing out to the first 100 guests to the Hot Chocolate Bar! The perfect way to start your day and warm your soul. Available 9:00a – 11:00a.
