BIBIBOP Asian Grill is opens the seventh Columbus-area location on November 3 at 6490 Sawmill Road in Dublin. Don’t miss the giveaway information at the bottom of this post! This fast-casual Korean cuisine restaurant is healthy, affordable, and will fill you up. The concept is based on the popular Korean dish Bibimbap, which means “mixed rice”, and is inspired by the service format of Chipotle and other assembly-line fast casual restaurants.
I had the pleasure of checking out BIBIBOP before they opened to the public and I loved it and am looking forward to going back soon. I have dietary restrictions and I was impressed with the employees’ knowledge of what options were safe for me as I went through the line. I’m a big fan of the ethnic dish Bibimbap, but it’s hard to find locally and gluten-free, and this Americanized version is an excellent way for me to enjoy that taste, even when I’m in a hurry.
You can completely customize your meal with high quality proteins, vegetables, and whole grains, so even if you aren’t familiar with Korean food, you can enjoy an personalized version that fits your tastes. As you walk through the line, you will choose whether you want a bowl, salad, or roll. Rice choices are white rice, or the healthier option of purple rice, which consists of black and white rice cooked together. The protein options include spicy chicken, marinated chicken, steak, or organic crispy tofu. Next you’ll select your warm toppings (black beans, bean sprouts, and potatoes), followed by cold toppings (lettice, daikon, corn, cucumber, carrot, kale, cheese, and egg). You can top it all off with one or more of the sauces: yum yum, spicy Sriracha, teriyaki, and the traditional Korean red sauce). Side dishes that are also available are kimchi, edamame, fresh pineapple, and miso soup.
The average cost of a meal at BIBIBOP is $7, and the portion will fill you up for a meal (or two). It’s a great deal for fresh food – everything is prepared on site – from peeling the vegetables and marinating the proteins, to steaming the rice. Don’t worry about waiting long – food this fresh can be quick. Even if the line is to the door, you can expect to get through the line in less than 8 minutes, so it’s a great place to grab a meal even when you’re in a hurry. I’ve waited in drive through lines at other fast food places for longer than that (and for much lower quality food).
Need a few more reasons you can feel good about dining at BIBIBOP Asian Grill? They pay their employees well above minimum wage, and promote from within whenever possible. They also donated a coupon for a free meal to every Pelotonia rider this year.
As part of the Grand Opening celebration, they are giving away a free BIBIBOP to every customer between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will be other giveaways going on throughout the day, so make sure you stop by.
