One good thing came from the year we shall not mention… outdoor dining in winter with igloos in Columbus!

In order to allow customers to dine outside in winter in Ohio, restaurants around Central Ohio came up with creative outdoor dining experiences. And many of these have come back year after year due to popularity.

These private outdoor dining igloos allow you to dine outside at some amazing restaurants around Central Ohio. Plan a date night or a special family dinner out!

Most options require reservations in advance, and some will book up quickly. Due to high demand and minimal options, plan as far in advance as you can!

Restaurants with Igloos for Winter 2024/2025

Vaso Dublin

As one of the original igloo dining options, VASO is back again with their amazing rooftop igloo dining experiences.

Enjoy delicious tapas and cocktails while socially distanced in a temperature-controlled private igloo. Blankets and ambient lighting are provided for a cozy meal. 

All igloos are able to accommodate up to eight (8) people and are required to be on one check with an automatic 22% gratuity. There is a food and beverage spending minimum. Igloos must be reserved for a minimum of 2 hours.

• SUN – THURS $250 mininum total spend 
• FRI – SAT $400 mininum ($62.50 each x 8 guests)

As an example, Sunday – Thursday, you must spend $250 total on food and beverage during your two hours for up to 8 people, or you’ll pay the difference towards the minimum, plus tax and 22% gratuity.

Dine outside under a heated greenhouse at Understory through March 30. Rental fee of $50 is added to final bill, along with 20% gratuity.

Each decorated greenhouse comes with:

• A personal electric heater
• A Sonos speaker

Land-Grant has so much fun going on this winter for the perfect night out! In addition to their amazing beer, their beer garden offers fire pits, curling lanes, and igloos to hang out and dine-in. Order food from on-site food trucks. They even offer a curling/igloo combination!

Igloos seat up to 8 people. Reservations are for 2 hours. Walk-ins are accepted at the taproom bar for unreserved igloos on a first come, first served basis at the bar. Igloos include heaters. Stay warm and cozy in your igloo and let the folks at Land Grant deliver your beverage order to you!

Igloos are kid and dog friendly. ALL WELCOME! Note that the brewery is 21+ after 8pm. 

There is a $35 booking fee for Friday-Sunday reservations and a $25 booking fee for Monday-Thursday reservations.

You can also reserve a brewery curling lane, which includes an igloo, for $70 for 2 hours. Make a reservation at landgrantbrewing.com or at the check-in pod near the curling ice.

These igloos kick it up a notch on the 8th floor patio at the AC Hotel Downtown. Reservations are required; food and beverage minimum required. 

Menu includes Spanish-inspired tapas, including Harissa Deviled Eggs, Patatas Bravas, Calamari, Shrimp Ceviche and more, as well as creative cocktails, wine and beer.

BrewDog Polar Patios

Reserve one of three heated igloos at Moretti’s. Call to find out about reservations for the igloos. Enjoy handmade Italian cuisine with so many tasty options on the menu, including gluten-free and keto/low carb options.

The pizza and salad combinations they offer are my love language, with my favorite ingredients including fig, goat cheese, proscuitto, arugula, hot honey, brussels sprouts, smoked mozzerella, and more. I need to go here soon and order three of the pizza, and a salad. 😋

Guests can reserve one of four heated igloos, styled with comfortable seating, blankets to snuggle under and ambient lighting. This year, dine in new igloos that can accommodate up to 12 guests. The backdrop for these igloos will be Cherry Valley Hotel’s signature botanical gardens with its already spectacular ponds, waterfalls, and lights.

The igloos feature a dazzling winter-themed prix-fixe menu specialty curated by the Cherry Valley Hotel culinary team. The menu includes a three-course meal with a choice of a sharable, entrée, sides, and dessert. There is a winter cocktail menu to enhance the dining experience. 

Pricing begins at $65 per person with the option to add cocktails and other spirits.
