Columbus, Ohio, is gearing up to host one of hockey’s most exciting events as the NHL Stadium Series in 2025.
The Columbus Blue Jackets will face off against the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series™ at historic Ohio Stadium, home of the Ohio State Buckeyes, on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
“The Shoe” will be transformed into a hockey rink, providing a unique setting for this outdoor showdown. Catch the broadcast from home live at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.
OAR to perform pre-game
Platinum-certified band O.A.R. – whose members are alumni of The Ohio State University – are set to rock a pre-game performance prior to the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series.
The free concert is at St. John Arena before the Columbus Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings face off outdoors inside Ohio Stadium on Saturday, March 1, the National Hockey League today announced. The NHL Stadium Series Pep Rally will be free and open to the public with first-come, first-served seating. The concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET.
O.A.R. will be joined by the OSU Athletic Band and the university’s award-winning Spirit team, which consists of cheer and dance, bringing the high-energy enthusiasm of OSU game day traditions to fans before the outdoor game. Columbus Blue Jackets players will make their first stop at St. John Arena before the ceremonious walk over to Ohio Stadium. (Think of it like an OSU football game Skull Session, but hockey!)
Twenty One Pilots performing halftime show
The Stadium Series is more than just a hockey game; Columbus’ own Twenty One Pilots will perform during the game!
Born and raised in Columbus, Twenty One Pilots are currently on a world tour for their seventh studio album, Clancy. Lead vocalist Tyler Joseph, who attended Ohio State University, and drummer Josh Dun will return to their home state to perform during the Red Wings-Blue Jackets game at Ohio Stadium.
