This November, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America wants to encourage the aging population and those with memory concerns to get a memory screening. Memory screenings are useful to detect current memory problems, and as a point of comparison for the future. This annual initiative of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America hopes to promote early detection of memory problems, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, which are often not diagnosed until memory problem are severe and possibly dangerous.
There are FREE memory screening by healthcare professionals available at community sites nationwide on an on-going basis, and through the month of November, Kmart pharmacies are also providing the screenings for free. Please pass this on to any adults (especially those over age 60) who may be interested in making an appointment – dementia is a heartbreaking medical issue for which early detection is key, as some cases are reversible depending on the cause.
