Midwest Burlesque and Rockabilly Weekend

Burlesque and Rockabilly culture collide in a new summer festival with Midwest Burlesque and Rockabilly Weekend on June 1-4! You’ll be immersed in two of the most popular forms of entertainment in the 1950s, presented by Mon Cherie Entertainment and Columbus Pinup Studio.  This 4-day event features different shows and activities each day and night at multiple venues. The Weekend features several Ohio-based Rockabilly bands and burlesque performers from across the country.

• Thursday, June 1: ‘Opening Night Party’ at The Shrunken Head (251 W. 5th Ave), featuring Keith Jones and The Makeshifts, along with a number of national burlesque acts.
• Friday, June 2: National burlesque performers will take the stage at King Avenue 5 (945 King Ave) for the Weekend’s ‘Burlesque Showcase’. The all-star burlesque cast is headlined by award-winning dancers, Mika Romantic (Philadelphia, PA) and local burlesque star, Cherie Blondell. The show will also feature Honey Merlot, another local favorite. A dance party rounds out the night with Rockabilly DJ, Texas Hellkitten.
• Saturday, June 3: ‘Rockabilly Prom’ at King Avenue 5. The night features live music by The Bastard Sons of Neptune, as well as Slick Andrews and The Roadhouse Three. Columbus Pinup Studio is providing a special Prom photo booth so that Prom-goers can have their very own prom photo.
• Sunday, June 3: ‘Pinup Tea Party and Pageant’ at Mrs. Turbo’s Cookies (1050 Beecher Crossing N.). Patrons can expect to enjoy tea and Mrs. Turbo’s signature cookies, along with the first ‘Miss Turbo Pinup Pageant’. The contest is open to the public and instructions for how to enter can be found in the description on the ticketing link, the Facebook event page, and on the Mon Cherie Entertainment website. The Midwest Burlesque and Rockabilly Weekend will also feature classes/workshops, vendors, and exclusive pinup photo shoots with Columbus Pinup Studio.
