Sometimes you need a last minute holiday gift. Maybe you realized the gift count isn’t equal for kids, or you received a gift from someone that you weren’t expecting. Or you just completely blanked because you’re thinking about a million other things this holiday season.

Last minute holiday gift ideas
For any of the below options, check store hours before you go! Most are open later in the days leading up to Christmas Eve, but may close early on Christmas Eve.
Gift cards – you can get a gift card from nearly anywhere. Restaurants, favorite stores, movie theatres, spa, fast food, gas stations, coffee shops, etc. Some retailers and restaurants offer bonus cards with purchase during the holiday season. Note: This may feel like a generic gift, but it’s one of the most useful options! You’re better to give something they will want and use, rather than something creative but useless!
Experience gifts – Tickets to attractions and events, lessons for sports/music/art, animal experiences, annual passes for zoos, aquariums, museums, play places. You can often print these immediately for them to redeem when they are ready.
These also works great for people living in other states/cities, or if they are planning a big vacation later in the year, if you know the attractions they like to or want to visit!
Shop local – we’ve gathered a few options that you can run out and find something for anyone.
Big box stores – while these aren’t our favorite options, they are sometimes the quickest. With Target, Walmart, Kohl’s and Dicks Sporting Goods (amongst other retailers), you can shop online and pick up same day or next day without going into the store. When shopping, select items for pickup so you know what can be picked up right away. TJ Maxx and Marshalls have items for everyone for affordable prices.
