Ohio LOVES fairs, and if you haven’t visited the Hartford Fair before, put it on the calendar for this year for August 4-10, 2024.
Located in Croton, just north of Johnstown, the Hartford Fair is only 30-40 minutes from much of Columbus.
The first Hartford Fair was in 1858, and in all of those years, it’s grown so much, but still has the feel of “The Biggest Little Fair in the World”.
The Hartford Fair isn’t your typical county fair, as it includes directors and Junior Fair exhibitors from Licking County, Delaware County, and Knox County. It boasts one of the largest Junior Fair programs in Ohio.
Featured events at the Hartford Fair
You can expect to find all of the county fair fun at the Hartford Fair, like livestock shows and sales, tractor pulls harness racing, draft pony pulls, and demolition derby.
Other fun activities are the Dog show, Hartford Fair King & Queen Contest, Lumberjack Contest, Ice Cream Eating Contest, Six Two Auto Cross, Goat Costume Contest, Farm Chore Olympics, Rough Truck, Monster Truck, and so much more.
Grandstand and bleacher seats are FREE. There is no reserved seating, and blankets DO NOT save your seat.
You’ll also enjoy live music from the 4-H Band, and other performers.
Don’t forget all of the awesome fair food!!
