Celebrate Galentine’s Day in Columbus with your besties!

Whether you’re single, or just want a reason to hang with your gal pals in February, Galentine’s Day gives you the perfect excuse to plan a fun outing with your best friends. 

Mid-February tends to revolve around Valentine’s Day and love – but there’s more to life than that! Your girl gang is just as important (and often MORE important) than the current love of your life.

These events are also great hangouts with your sisters, your mom, a favorite aunt, or co-workers!

What is Galentine’s Day?

While it’s not an “official” holiday, we think it should be!

This unofficial, official holiday was more likely first introduced in a 2010 episode of “Parks and Recreation” by Leslie Knope (such a good show!). In the episode called “Galentine’s Day,” Leslie gathers a group of her closest gal pals for a brunch full of waffles and love, 

Every February 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it, breakfast style,” Leslie says in the episode. “Ladies celebrating ladies.

The unofficial Galentine’s Day is “technically” February 13, but there are lots of events in the upcoming weeks to celebrate your love of friendship.

Galentine’s Sugar Cookie Decorating at Our Cupcakery

February 5, 2025 at 6 pm.

Grab your favorite Gal Pal and come create some heart-felt cookies. The cookies will be baked and ready for you to focus on decorating about a dozen elegant custom sugar cookies using the much-requested royal icing flooding technique. Adults or teens 13 years and older. Register here.

Galentine’s Craft Night

Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 6 pm – 9 pm.

Monday, February 10, 2025 from 7 pm – 9 pm. Dive into a hands-on cake decor session led by our expert instructors. Indulge in Charcuterie cups and sip on refreshing mocktails throughout the evening. Take-Home Cake: Leave with your beautifully decorated cake to show off (or devour!). (You can bring your own alcoholic beverages to enjoy)

Galentine’s Day Craft Party

Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 6 pm – 9 pm. Casual evening of making cute things, sipping pink drinks (alcohol and NA options available) and hanging out with other like-minded gals. Crafts for the night will be a pressed flower candle and paper flower collages. There will be temporary Valentine’s Day theme tattoo station set up.

$15 tickets cover crafting supplies, light snacks and a pink drink. Amount goes towards any purchase of vintage that evening if you end up finding something you love.

Galentine’s Yoga for the Heart

Please join us for a free yoga class lead by Georgia, a third-year medical student at OUHCOM, Columbus! This is a free beginner-friendly yoga class with Female Partnered Health at Grandview Public Library. Bring your mother, your daughter, or other woman in your life. All ages and abilities. Female Partnered Health is a community outreach program focused on improving the health and wellness of females by fostering the support and bond between mothers and daughters. They hold free events, and discuss ways to improve women’s health and wellness. The focus for this event is heart health.

Valentine’s Day with CMA

Columbus Museum of Art is offering a couple of different ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day. From cocktail celebrations to music nights, it’s always a great place to explore with your gals – no matter your relationship status.

If this day doesn’t work, or it’s too expensive, admission to Columbus Museum of Art is only $5 on Thursdays from 5 pm – 9 pm, and is FREE on Sundays. Find all of the details here.
