Dog ownership can be expensive. Low-cost and free spay and neuter programs in Columbus help keep the pet population under control, lower risks of certain cancers, and prevent owners from dealing with the expense of litters of puppies and kittens.
Why Spaying and Neutering is so important
The best way to reduce the number of stray and homeless animals is to spay and neuter your pets before they have a chance to accidentally reproduce.
Getting your pet fixed will also reduce marking, aggressive and nuisance behaviors, such as urinating on furniture or biting.
It can prevent or reduce incidence of certain types of cancer, helping your pet live a longer, healthier life.
Dogs at least two months old and weighing two pounds may be eligible for spay/neuter surgery. All dogs should be fixed and prevent unwanted litters and provide lasting health benefits by 5 months of age.

Hi – Some of the options in this article aren’t county-based, so anyone could utilize services. The Rascal Unit is mobile, and some months it’s located in Dublin-area, which isn’t too far. The Union County Humane Society offers lower-priced spay/neuter, as well as a 20% discount for seniors, 60+. Hope that helps.
