Looking for an elevated night out? Franklin Park Conservatory, just a couple of miles from Downtown Columbus, offers a fun and unique evening for a date or with friends.
Walk and talk as you explore the Conservatory amongst lush greenery, vibrant blooms, and art installations. No matter what time of year, you’ll find seasonal exhibits and displays on the inside and outside of FPC. You’ll also find TONS of opportunities for selfies and “usies”.
Franklin Park Conservatory After Dark
While the Conservatory is typically only open until 5 pm, they stay open on select evenings throughout the year for visitors to enjoy the experience after dark. Cash bar and food is available to enjoy.
Chihuly Nights
Chihuly Nights are an amazing way to see the Conservatory after hours in a new light during Chihuly Nights.
The 18 Chihuly installations will be illuminated with the botanical gardens as a backdrop. Check out the biomes in the conservatory and the historic John F. Wolfe Palm as it’s illuminated by James Turrell’s Light Raiment II.
The Garden Café and cash bar will be available and Botanica Gift Shop & Greenhouse will be open during the event and have Chihuly merchandise in stock.
Hours are 7 pm -10 pm. Special admission is $16-$26.50 for non-members, and discounted admission for members. Access rates are available. It’s an amazing date night idea!

Cocktails at the Conservatory
Enjoy fun nights with friends or a date at a venue like no other on select Thursdays from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Each event features a new theme, a rotating cast of local drink vendors, live music, and more.
The entire Conservatory is open for you to explore after hours. Spend time with friends, enjoy the scenery, take pictures and more:
Savor local sips and snacks as you revel in the gardens at golden hour. Ages 21+ only. Tickets are $35 for non-members, $30 for members. Details here.
January 16 – Fire and Ice. Fire & Ice will serve as the adults-only kickoff event for the Conservatory’s first annual Ice Festival! Enjoy an ice skating rink and watch an ice carving competition, then stroll the Conservatory’s wintery grounds and indoor exhibits with dessert/ice wine and cocktail samples from local vendors.
February 14 – Escape to the Islands. The vibrant blooms of the Conservatory’s orchid exhibition set the backdrop for a tropical getaway. Sip on refreshing cocktails and tropical local beers as you sway to the rhythm of a steel drums duo, ride the waves on a mechanical surf ride, and learn the enchanting hula from Hawaiian dancers.
April 10 – Masquerade. Savor craft cocktails from local distilleries among the lush spring greenery of the Conservatory as you enjoy performers and captivating acts, each adding to the mystique of this exclusive gathering under the cover of night.
May 15 – Tequila and Taps. Local breweries showcase their finest Mexican-style lagers alongside expert vendors whipping up craft margaritas.
July 18 – Summer Sips Garden Party. Explore vibrant exhibitions and gardens while exploring wine and bubbly samples from local wineries and wine shops.
August 15 – Paws and Pints. Beer lovers and dog enthusiasts will enjoy refreshing beer samples from local breweries, with their furry friends by their side. Dogs are warmly welcome, but must be leashed at all times and up to date on vaccinations to ensure a safe and fun experience for all!
September 25 – Fall Festival. Festive fall celebration, featuring local vendors offering seasonal goods, DIY s’mores stations, and delicious beer and cider samples from nearby breweries and cideries. Embrace the cozy autumn vibes with a perfect blend of local flavors, crafts, and outdoor fun!
December 4 – Merry Martini. Experience the magic of the Conservatory Aglow in an exclusive 21+ setting, where you can explore the dazzling displays while indulging in a selection of martini samples from local distilleries.
