Ohio has the second most original covered bridges in the nation with 125 (second to Pennsylvania), and Fairfield County has the most in the state with 17 covered bridges! With construction dating back to the 1800s, these beautiful covered wood bridges deserve their time in the spotlight. Be ready to take some photos – covered bridges make great photo ops!

From September 14-15, Visit Fairfield County is hosting three unique events with the bridges of Fairfield County at center stage.
The first-ever, free Covered Bridge Festival in Lancaster, Ohio’s Alley Park will feature two days of live music, family-friendly fun, artisan demonstrations and food truck faves. Attendees will get to explore some of the county’s most iconic covered bridges and take a stroll through one of the region’s most picturesque sites. Food trucks will be on site while you enjoy live music from various bands.

Want to see more oft he bridges? The Bridges & Backroads Tour allows you to spend an afternoon exploring Fairfield County’s scenic countryside from the comfort of a motorcoach. This guided tour takes you back to the time when horses ruled the roads. Tours leave at 1 pm each day during the Covered Bridge Festival from Alley Park and cost $20 per rider. Tours include guided tour including 6 Covered Bridges, Tour of Rock Mill, Refreshments, professional tour guide and more. Tickets will sell out! Dinner On A Covered Bridge
Want to kick off the Fairfield County Covered Bridge Festival in style? Savor an elegant and unforgettable culinary experience on a historic covered bridge in Pickerington’s Sycamore Creek Park with Dinner on a Bridge on September 13 from 6-8 pm. Set in a unique historical structure on the edge of the city’s gorgeous arboretum, this opportunity is a can’t-miss for a covered bridge enthusiast. Tickets are $79 per person.
