Rainbow UA AIDS Walk Community Event
Rainbow UA is a recently formed community group in Upper Arlington whose mission is to support the lgbtqia+ community in Upper Arlington. Rainbow UA is hosting a community event on May 2 to benefit the Equitas Health AIDS Walk. The event is free.
The AIDS Walk is an annual event, that is virtual this year. The statewide event runs from April 29- May 13. Participants can register online and complete the walk on their own time.
Rainbow UA is hosting a live community event to raise funds for AIDS Walk Ohio, and create community in Upper Arlington. The Upper Arlington community event is Sunday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Fancyburg Park, based out of the park shelter house. The event is free, and participants can register on the spot at the event. All of the proceeds go to benefit AIDS Walk Ohio.
The Rainbow UA Upper Arlington community event will include information booths from Equitas Health and Upper Arlington Preventative Primary Care, a co-sponsor for the event, as well as a voter registration drive. There will be an ice cream truck from 11-12:30, baked goods for sale, a free children’s balloon artist from 10:30-12:30, and a kids fun run. The event will include prizes from sponsors Front Runner, Athleta, and Fabtique.
For COVID safety, masks are required during the event. There will be staggered start times to discourage people from congregating. There will be a volunteer medic team on site.
