This second concert will feature the bands Hello Emerson and WYD. HELLO EMERSON Hello Emerson began in the dorm room of Samuel Emerson Bodary. After releasing his cassette tape single, “Bridge, Straw, Lake” , Bodary met Jack Doran (keyboard), and Dan Seibert (percussion). They became the base trio of Hello Emerson with a rotating band line-up, performing with different band members each show. Their first full length album, “Above the Floorboards”, was released on August 2017. With help from 23 contributors, Bodary’s songs were backed with a string trio, horn quartet, pedal steel, and found sound recording. They are currently signed with K&F Records, a Dresden-based singer-songwriter label. WYD This avant-pop trio includes Carly Fratianne (vocalist / guitarist), Maddy Ciampa (synthesizer / background vocals), and Courtney Hall (drums / percussion). Together they bring to life deeply moving, expressive pieces with unearthing vocals and memorizing lyrics. In their first year together, WYD released three singles, two of which caught the attention of the national music blog, Stereogum. They have recently released their new EP, “Sick / Death / After”. This EP features and array of artists from Columbus, OH and a horn section from Memphis, TN arranged by the renowned Kameron Whalum.
