Farmers Market season in Ohio starts in spring and continues through fall. Farmers’ Markets in Columbus open in most communities in mid/late spring.
They are best place to buy local produce through the Ohio growing season! Buy the freshest produce (often picked that morning) at a fair price, and help put money back in the local community.
Many farmers markets also offer craft items, soap, honey, baked goods, plants, meat, eggs, cheese, and more in addition to the wonderful produce. There are farm markets open nearly every day of the week all over the city.
You can also join a farm CSA or order directly from the farms, which is the best way to guarantee you’ll get the products you want no matter the changes with farmers markets. See details about direct order and farm CSA at this link.
Some farmers markets may still offer a pre-order, pickup style market. You’ll place your order directly with the vendors or through a market link, and pickup on the farmers market day.
