“Facing Death, Celebrating Life”: An Uplifting Concert with Bill Cohen
Saturday June 29 7 p.m.
We do our best to avoid the reality that we’re all going to die. That’s all the more reason to embrace that fact and to live our remaining days with passion and meaning. That’s the simple thrust of this unusual concert, as Bill Cohen sings humorous and serious songs from the 1940’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.
It’s not a morbid show, and it’s not a religious sermon on an afterlife. Instead, we’ll hear jokes, songs, and wise sayings that may help liberate us to live our lives here on Planet Earth to the fullest. Songlist clues: Pete Seeger, Tom Dooley, Phil Ochs, Shel Silverstein, John Prine, Satchmo, and Sweet Chariot.
Free admission. Donations welcomed. Sponsored by the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Central Ohio, a consumer advocate group.
Where: First Unitarian Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., Columbus 43214
