Sometimes you just want a drink and don’t want to leave the house. (Good call – stay at home!) You’ve been able to buy beer and wine from restaurants during pickup, and have beer and wine delivered to your home directly from select breweries and wineries. However starting on April 7, the Ohio Liquor Control Commission has granted permission for a broader range of alcohol delivery in Ohio from restaurants by allowing cocktails to go and for delivery!

Establishments in Ohio with liquor licenses are now allowed to sell and deliver prepackaged alcoholic beverages and cocktails to-go after Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed an executive order April 7.
Details for Alcohol delivery in Columbus
The Ohio Liquor Control Commission passed an emergency rule to allow establishments with an existing liquor permit to sell and deliver alcohol in Ohio, including high-proof liquor in limited quantity. Under the rule, customers can purchase two sealed drinks per meal. All drinks must remain closed during transport to be in order with the open container law.
Need your favorite margarita, old fashioned, Bloody Mary, seltzer, beer, or wine without leaving your house? Order delivery and tack on 2 drinks per meal. Note: we cannot confirm if kids’ meals count towards meal total, but suspect that’s skirting the rules a little too closely. I’ve been waiting for this change to go into place – I’m perfectly capable of buying beer or wine at the store, but I cannot make a good cocktail to save my life!
